Thank you for the pics
this filtration is truly very technical: have you seen on our site that some amateurs have comparable facilities, with even, in some cases, a "domotic" technology?

F1 or F2 will do fine.
All kinds of Petrochromis.

The filtration is very simple. I used Japonese foam and Sera Siporax Maxi.

Hi Xibo,

You did my dream! I have just read from the beginning this chat and I appreciate your details follow up.
I guess we're all look forward to see your tank with the fishes.

Some remarks : Are you not afraid about the plants and Petro behavior?
Airlift is a very good system, I experienced this in small tanks and I always remark that fishes seem to appreciate. My guess is that traditional pumps generate vibrations that are not good for the fishes, in addition this oxygens well the water and the energy consumption is reduced...
I would not use brass connexions for the airlifts inside the water, I think this is not good in term of risk of contaminent diffusion (even if the water volume is big here) I would use plastics.

In term of background, you probably have achieved the most realistic biotope simulation ! congratulation - The only one who I know and who did that is Julien ( Tank Ganyika), however he was limited by a front lenght of two meters...

Please continue to give design details ( heating system...) and also some nice petro pictures :)

I agree about the vibrations some electric pump can give. And I think an airlift-filter is the best way to filter a tank.
It is indeed better to remove the brass connections, thanks for the reaction. I will look for plastic ones.

bonjour xibo

merci
manu

bonjour xibo

I want some advice to make my 40mm airlifts more efficient
what airflow would you put on 40 mm? number of holes in the room? drilling diameter?
because currently I have 32mm that go better than my 40mm
the 32 mm c is a guy on the forum cichlidamerique who made me, they walk better than mine with only 600L / H air.
mine in 40mm, even if I put 1200L / H of air work less than 32 mm?
what bullshit did I do?
thank you
manu

http://www.discustoutsimplement.com/t18 ... ur-airlift

tu devrais trouver ton bonheur.
